Frequently asked questions

Do you only shoot weddings?

How many images will we receive?

I shoot mainly weddings, engagements and couple sessions. This includes intimate/micro weddings, elopements & vow renewals. I do also take on lifestyle sessions when my availability allows it - but these are mostly limited to weekday sessions.

The amount of photos you receive will depends on a few factors, such as how many hours I cover your wedding for, how many locations we shot at during the wedding, and whether your package includes 1 or 2 photographers, for example. To give you and indication of what to expect, a minimum amount of photos is given in each package description, but I give you all the best images from the day. I will never ‘cap’ the amount of images you get - I meticulously go through them all and select the best ones for you!

Do you travel for weddings?

Do you give out RAW images so that I can edit them?

Yes! I love exploring all over South Africa for love stories and so each of my standard wedding packages has all local travel included. I will invoice you for 1-2 night's accommodation depending on how far your wedding is, but I've got all of the other travel costs covered so there is one less thing you need to worry about!

I don’t. Editing is a huge part of each photographer’s style, and so to give out unedited RAWs wouldn’t be the complete product and service you paid me to deliver. I make very sure to deliver the best images to you and will never let you “lose out” on special photos - promise!

How long do you take to edit my images?

How far in advance should we book you?

To avoid disappointment, as soon as you have a date I recommend booking me or at least starting the process. I work on a first come, first serve basis and so my dates fill up very quickly. If it’s a spontaneous, last minute elopement or micro-wedding (I had one of those myself, so I get you!) please still feel free to get in contact with me about whether or not I’m available. You may just be lucky! But in any other circumstance, I recommend booking at least 2-3 months before your wedding date.

I deliver sneak peeks within 3 days of your wedding. After that, please allow 8 weeks from your wedding to receive your online gallery. Delivery of other items like keepsake boxes and USBs will happen shortly after and is subject to other factors such as courier services.

For couple and other lifestyle shoots, please allow up to 3 weeks to receive your final images.

Do you offer payment plans?

Do you offer videography?

Unfortunately at this time I don’t offer videography services, no. But I’m happy to help recommend other videographers whose work I love!

Yes I do! For weddings a non-refundable R7000 deposit is required to secure your date. You can pay the rest of your package in full, or else you can split up the payments as follows:

R7000 + 50% remaining balance + 50% remaining balance

For couple and lifestyle sessions, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure your session and the further 50% balance is to be paid no less than 14 days before your shoot date.

What kind of wedding packages do you offer?

Should we do an engagement shoot?

YES! I think that they are an important (and FUN) part of the whole process. Engagement shoots allow you the opportunity to be in front of my lens before your wedding day and get a feel for what it will be like. It helps you get more comfortable with me and it’s also a great time to trial run your hair and makeup too! I promise you’ll have a really great time. Engagement shoots can be added to any of my packages.

I have a range of 'standard' wedding packages (these are for anything more than 30 guests), as well as elopement + micro wedding packages. If these don’t cater to what you need from your day, let's set up a consultation to chat about your specific needs and what we can do for you!

What if I need to reschedule my couple / lifestyle shoot?

What if I need to reschedule my wedding day?

If you cancel your shoot within 14 days of your session, a cancellation fee of R500 is payable. If you let me know more than 14 days away from your shoot that you need to reschedule, no cancellation fee is applicable and we can just see where we can reschedule your shoot to.

Generally, rescheduling your wedding would count as a new booking and you would need to put down a new deposit for the date. HOWEVER, I know the times we’re in are different. So, if you need to reschedule or cancel your wedding due to the pandemic and the regulations put in place because of it, you will not need to put down a new deposit. I will work with you to find a new date and make sure you still have the most incredible day! I have a more detailed clause regarding this in my contract.

Please note that this is only for rescheduling due to the pandemic. Rescheduling for any other reason would count as a new booking and a new deposit would be applicable.

Do you take a break at my wedding?

What if it rains?

Rainy days aren’t a bad thing - don’t worry! Some of the most beautiful, romantic, and dramatic images are captured on rainy days. I’m adapted to working in all types of environments and situations, so don’t worry, we’ll still get you beautiful images. If my gear can handle it, we'll go for it! If it's a bit too wild outside though, we'll find a beautiful cosy patch for your guys to still get some epic shots in.

I do. If I’m shooting for any period over 5hrs, I require a 30-45min break. But don’t worry, I time my break so that I’m not missing anything. I usually take my break at dinner time while everyone is eating.

Will you post my photos to your social media pages?

Will all my photos be edited? Do you do black and white edits?

Yes! All my images are colour edited and retouched basically. Some may be edited in black and white where it suits the feeling of the image.

Probably! Although many photographers curate their social media based on a wide variety of things, so if I don’t post your images it really doesn’t mean that I don’t love them! Sometimes it's really as simple as that it may not fit my current feed, which is so silly but the satisfaction of everything being smooth and consistent just gets me haha. I really do love posting my client’s images though, so I will most probably post yours. If you wish for your images not to be posted, please just chat to me so that I’m aware of it!

Will the whole day turn into a photoshoot?

What will you wear to my wedding?

Heck no. There will definitely be moments where I may direct you (eg, let's all go outside and pop some champagne, everyone huddle around the bride and give her a squeeze - little things like that!), but for the most part I want you to just naturally let the day unfold as I document. I have found that each couple is different and so I will work with what is best for YOU. For example, some couples have a high priority for their bridal portraits and so we'll spend quite a while doing those (a while being +-1hr). Some just want a few quick snaps and would rather spend more time with their guests. There is no right or wrong! The day is yours and I adapt to your priorities.

If I were a guest at your wedding, I wouldn’t wear jeans and a t-shirt, and so I certainly don’t wear that when I’m shooting your wedding. I dress smart casual in either a dress or a jumpsuit that allows me to do my job while still looking smart.
